This innovative offering serves as a lightweight and adaptable alternative to traditional pre-cast concrete trenching systems.

Now celebrating its 55th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise represent the highest accolade for businesses in the United Kingdom, acknowledging exceptional accomplishments across four categories: innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and promoting opportunity through social mobility. The innovation category specifically recognizes products and solutions that address market gaps, achieve remarkable commercial success, and deliver significant advantages to customers and the broader industry. The award process involves a comprehensive evaluation of the innovation, including its market context, competitive environment, and the overall performance of the business in relation to its customers, suppliers, and employees.

Introduced to the market in 2017, the Trenchlite® GRP cable troughs offer a remarkable 95% reduction in weight compared to their pre-cast concrete counterparts, while still being capable of supporting loads of up to 40 tonnes. This reduced weight enhances safety and ease of installation, as each Trenchlite® section, weighing only 31kg, can be manually positioned by two individuals without the need for lifting equipment or additional safety precautions.

Moreover, the weight efficiency of Trenchlite® facilitates a reduction of up to 70% in transportation needs. A full load of 26 pre-cast concrete troughs weighs approximately 21 tonnes, whereas 104 Trenchlite® troughs, totalling just 3.5 tonnes, can be accommodated on a single vehicle. This results in fewer deliveries, simplifying site logistics, significantly lowering CO2 emissions, and reducing costs for clients.
